Karachi: Former Pakistan skipper Waqar Younis, who was Pakistan’s bowling coach on their tour to Australia which concluded on Friday with another defeat, has said that he wouldn’t continue as the coach unless a proper analysis is done into the reasons for the team’s disastrous performance Down Under.
Pakistan didn’t manage to win a single game on the tour being thrashed 3-0 in the Test series and 5-0 in the one-day series in Australia and Waqar, who was the bowling and fielding coach of the team, said they were some non-cricketing reasons for the debacle in Australia.
“I will only spell out these reasons before the National Assembly standing committee on sports,” Waqar told Geo News from Melbourne.
“I want the committee to call me as I want to tell the people the reasons for the team’s poor performances,” Waqar said, threatening to spill the beans.
Waqar said he wanted to discuss the reasons for the defeats before the committee so that everyone was aware of what was going on in Pakistan cricket. “I just feel the committee has to work with sincerity if they want to bring about positive changes in Pakistan cricket,” he said.
