Karachi, July 8 2009: Former chief selector Abdul Qadir has slammed the Pakistan team for their humiliating defeat in the first Test against Sri Lanka at Galle, calling it ’shameful’ and an embarrassment to national cricket.

“This is what happens when you indulge in favoritism while picking players. When the team is selected without honest intention, this is what happens,” Qadir told a television channel.

Qadir resigned as chief selector early last month during the T20 World Cup claiming there was too much interference from the PCB Chairman and the team management in selection matters.

Ever since then Qadir has been on a warpath with the PCB and had been criticising them for their decisions.
