Hyderabad: Former Australian wicket-keeper and skipper of Deccan Chargers, Adam Gilchrist, said on Monday that he is “excited” to lead the defending champions in the third edition of the Indian Premier League but he is a little frustrated at the unavailability of some players.
“The mood is really fantastic. But it is a bit frustrating that we have not been able to assemble or work together for a consecutive number of days,” the former stumper told reporters ahead of an exhibition match among the Deccan players here on Monday.
Although the tournament is less than a week away, several players of the franchise have not joined the team yet due to different reasons. “We are just going to make most of the opportunity now. The mood is terrific, I am really excited and looking forward to the tournament,” Gilchrist said.
The cash-rich T20 league is commencing from March 12 and Deccan Chargers will take on Kolkata Knight Riders in the opening match in Mumbai.
