Mumbai: Suspended Indian Premier League commissioner, Lalit Modi, has submitted his reply to show cause notice issued by the BCCI accusing him of rigging of bids and financial irregularities.
Modi’s reply, believed to be running into around 10,000 pages, was carried to the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai in several boxes in six cartons by his lawyers.
On Monday, Modi had sought time from the BCCI to reply to the show cause notice which includes charges of alleged violation of the BCCI agreement with Nimbus that supposedly covered the Internet rights.
Modi also has to reply to allegations regarding the Kochi franchise controversy, the shareholding pattern of the Rajasthan Royals team, and whether Modi has any financial involvement there.
In fact, sources close to Modi have revealed that his legal team has prepared a detailed dossier that will bring up counter-charges of “serious” nature against two members of the IPL Governing Council.
The good thing for Lalit Modi is that he will now have to answer only three charges that are based on actual ‘documentary proof’ provided to him by the BCCI.
