Cricket Australia sends unconditional apology to Pakistan for security fiasco thumbnail

After the security breach during the fifth and final one-dayer between Australia and Pakistan where an unidentified spectator ran on to the ground and pushed Pakistan’s Khalid Latif to the ground, Cricket Australia (CA) have sent an unconditional apology to the PCB and have assured that an incident like this will not happen again in the future.

New Zealand survived a scary last wicket partnership of 103 runs between Mohammad Aamer and Saeed Ajmal to win the third and final one-dayer against Pakistan and with it clinch the series 2-1.

Brendan McCullum has had a really tough past one year. He had a disastrous IPL campaign captaining the Kolkata Knight Riders and was stripped of vice-captaincy of the New Zealand team last month to concentrate on his batting. But he scored a perfectly constructed 131, his second century in 162 matches, paving the way for a 64 runs win for New Zealand over Pakistan in the second ODI at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Shahid Afridi has been pretty open about his desire to be the captain of the ODI team of Pakistan and rumours of his differences with current captain Younis Khan have been picking up steam. Well, his brilliant all-round performance on Tuesday in the first ODI against New Zealand coupled with a duck from Younis Khan will do nothing to quell further talk on the issue.
