India’s young guns thrash Australia in 2nd ODI

With the help of a superb century from Virat Kohli and two solid fifties from Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina, India was able to chase down the target of 290 runs set by Australia with ease, to take unbeatable series lead of 1-0, during the first ODI played at the Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy ADA-VDCA Cricket Stadium at Vizag on Wednesday.

Asif and Aamer put Pakistan on top

Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamer picked up three wickets apiece as Pakistan restricted Australia to 229 for 9 on Day 1 of the first test at Lords, when bad light stopped play, with 20 overs being lost on the opening day.

After ending their 13-match losing streak to the Aussies by beating them in the first T20 of the two-match series, Pakistan began a streak of their own, winning the second T20 international against Australia by 11 runs and clinching the two-match series 2-0.

The Australian selectors have backed the under-pressure Michael Clarke by naming him skipper for Australia’s series against Pakistan to be played in England in July. Michael Clarke unsure of T20 future

He was being touted as the next Mike Brearley, as Australia remained unbeaten under him coming into the final of the World T20. And although even after losing to England in the final, Australian skipper Michael Clarke was confident that the Australian team would come back strongly next year, he conceded that he wasn’t sure if he would be the captain next time around.
