BCCI rejects Lalit Modi’s explanations on all charges

Trouble appears to be mounting for suspended IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi whose ouster looks certain, with the Cricket Board on Tuesday rejecting his defence against the slew of charges levelled against him.

Lalit Modi’s lawyer, Mehmood Abdi, launched a scathing attack at the BCCI, saying that the third show cause notice slapped on Lalit Modi is nothing but the Board’s way of further harassing the suspended IPL commissioner and it’s in response to his allegations against BCCI Secretary N Srinivasan.

Suspended IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi on Tuesday asked the BCCI President Shashank Manohar and Secretary N Srinivasan to stay away from the decision-making process in the proceedings of the show cause notice served on him and let an independent panel decide his fate.
