With everyone blaming faulty selection for India’s humiliating defeat against South Africa in the first test at Nagpur, Chairman of Selectors Kris Srikkanth has come out in defense of the selectors saying that as the chairman he is ready to take responsibility and if he is sacked he would gracefully accept it but selection was the not the reason for India’s loss.

Tamil Nadu batsman S Badrinath, Karnataka fast bolwer Abhimanyu Mithun and Bengal wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha have been included in India’s 15-man squad for the first test against South Africa starting February 6, after injuries during the recently concluded tour of Bangladesh ruled out Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh and S Sreesanth.
