Mumbai: The preliminary list of 30 Indian players for the forthcoming ICC World Twenty20 Championships in the West Indies would be announced by the national selection panel headed by Krishnamachari Srikkanth in Chennai on February 26.

“The 30 probables for the T20 World Cup will be picked in Chennai on Friday afternoon at 3 pm as the International Cricket Council’s regulations stipulate that the list should be declared by each of the competing teams two months in advance of the tournament,” Cricket Board sources told PTI.

The final squad for the tournament to be played from April 30 – May 16 will be announced one month before the commencement of the tournament as per the world governing council’s guidelines.

India had won the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007 in South Africa but failed to defend their crown in England last year, with Pakistan emerging the new champions in the shortest form of the game.
